Southern Maine Community College: Council Month keeps students on track to academic success

25 October 2021

There is no better way to achieve your academic goals, while saving time and money, than by meeting with a CMCC advisor during Council Month.

CMCC faculty and staff are redoubling their efforts to encourage students to meet with a counselor during Counseling Month, which begins November 1 and runs monthly.

Students are encouraged to meet with their academic advisor or staff advisor to review their diploma audit, determine what courses they need to take, create a schedule, and register for spring semester courses.

Start of registrations:
• Monday November 15, for current students with 30 credits or more and veterans
• Wednesday November 17, for current students with less than 30 credits

There are a number of ways you can get in touch with a personnel advisor.
• Meet at the counseling office at South Portland Campus Center, or LL Bean Learning Commons on Midcoast Campus, during regular business hours. No appointment necessary.
• Zoom counseling sessions without appointment. For a list of drop-in Zoom counseling sessions in November, please visit My Maine Guide.
• On appointment. Schedule a meeting in person, by phone or Zoom. You will find the link “Meet the Advising Office” in the left column of MySMCC.
• By phone: 207-741-5835.
• By email: [email protected]
