Maine Community Foundation program seeks proposals – Knox County Villagesoup


The Maine Community Foundation’s Investing in Leaders of Color program is looking for proposals. The Foundation is headquartered in Ellsworth, with additional staff in Rockport, Portland, Dover-Foxcroft and Mars Hill.
The ILOC program is designed for nine people of color in leadership positions in nonprofit organizations that serve communities of color and promote racial equity in Maine. The program offers one-on-one coaching, a professional development allowance and support for operating costs. The maximum grant awarded under the program to organizations is $ 6,950. Online applications must be submitted by September 15, 2021. Applicants will be notified of final decisions in mid-November. The ILOC program is part of MaineCF’s racial equity strategic work, which builds the field of people and organizations to improve the quality of life for all people in Maine. “Nonprofit leaders of color are the primary drivers of race equity work in Maine,” says Gloria Aponte C, senior program manager. “The goal of the ILOC program is to support nonprofit leaders of color and their organizations. “
