PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WAGM) – Next week will kick off the 82nd Maine Agricultural Trades Show from January 10-14.
“People who are genuinely enthusiastic and interested in farming use it to start their year,” said Anne Trenholm, promotion coordinator for the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry.
Trenholm said they have streamlined the trade show in its second year as a fully virtual experience.
“Some will offer pre-recorded content, others will continue in a fully online virtual meeting format through Microsoft teams or zoom or other platforms to offer workshops or training. “
This year, the show will archive the contacts in a business directory, so that farmers can contact experts all year round. In addition to the conferences, the trades fair is launching “The Listening Post” so that participants can have additional one-on-one meetings with business advisers.
“We hope this will allow people to attend from anywhere, as Maine is a large state and agriculture takes place anywhere from the southern tip to the western mountains to the ‘east and county. “
Some events require pre-registration and Trenholm recommends visiting the 2022 Maine Agricultural Trades Show website by January 10.
